The Casentino is a narrow valley between the Apennine ridge and the massif of the Pratomagno, two mountains covered with woods of beech-tree, fir, oak, chestnut tree. The hilly part of the Casentino and the valley floor flown by the Arno are mainly farmlands. All this brings about a costant change of colours in the landscape of the Casentino.

The small villages and the medieval castles of the Tuscan Casentino blend perfectly in the landscape, or better, they set in it as precious stones.
